Associate Manufacturing Engineer Job - Lake Orion

Associate Manufacturing Engineer:MAN0010443

This position is for a paint process engineer in a General Motors vehicle assembly facility or at GMs Global Paint and Polymer Center. Responsibilities of this position include:

: Ensure that paint processes are maintained and running effectively for vehicle production

: Problem:solve (analyze data, determine root causes, develop implementation plans) and resolve issues which are affecting paint shop quality or throughput

: Support implementation of new processes and equipment

: Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve operations by reducing cost, reducing energy usage, improve quality, etc.

: Support safety of the shop and of operators

: Interface with production/maintenance personnel, plant leadership and others outside of the plant (Manufacturing Engineering, suppliers, etc.) as needed to resolve issues, implement improvements, and communicate status and opportunities, etc.

: Plant project support and execution

Qualifications

Basic Required
: High level of analytical ability and creativity where problems are unusual and difficult
: Comfortable with technology tools (PCs, Microsoft Office)
: Oral and written communications skills
: High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
: Strong work ethic (self:starter, responsible, follow through on assignments)
: Ability to work with people at all education and experience levels
: Flexibility (work hours, moving from one assignment quickly to another as priorities change)
: Team player
: Able to travel

Basic Preferred
: Knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes
: Knowledge of paint:related technologies (coatings, corrosion, sealing, etc.)
: Experience giving presentations
: Project management experience
: Experience with Microsoft Project
: Project team and leadership experience
: Student organization leadership experience
: Automotive:related project or student club experience (SAE, solar car, etc.)

Education and Training

: College degree with a major in engineering or equivalent training/experience required
